I had been trying to think of how my first blog entry would and I was thinking I could make a list as a tribute to how my sister, who was on tour last year, would blog. No, that wasn't in the stars this time. As I sit here typing my blog entry, I have the movie "Holes" playing in the background as my leg is propped up. That's right, my leg is propped up, not because it is the "cool" thing to do, but because during our first run-through of this years show, I rolled on my ankle. The run went really well for it only being the fifth day of boot-camp I might add. During the final song though I celebrated a little too hard, and landed on a fellow dancers foot in a way that I would not recommend to all of you out there.
Before boot-camp, I was a little apprehensive. Two weeks of 10+ hour practices sounded very grueling, but I figured I could make it out alive. It was actually today that I was thinking to myself during a practice, "You know what, I think I'll be just fine. This isn't too bad after all."
It was either that, or the fact that Andrew was taping when it happened that doomed my ankle to such torment. I'll get better though, because nothing is going to keep me from going on tour.
Hmmm... Maybe I shouldn't have typed that last line. :)
God bless,
Eric

Godband...
Hey Guys!
This is Pat. I am the Music Director for the Godband and I am here to tell you we will be rockin'. At the outset of Boot Camp, we were having some pretty major tempo and balance problems but, alas (for you), we have finally started to shape what will become the music for the 2008 Tour. I also want to take this time to say that the cast is doing an outstanding job, and are going to bring a solid ministry to this year's tour. Thanks.
Pat
Just a quick thanks!
I'm sure for the people who have done this show more than once, new people trying to catch up can be pretty frustrating. But I want to thank everyone for being so patient, and helpful, to all of us first-timers. This has been one crazy week of dancing, staging, and singing. And even though it gets frustrating, even though sometimes I feel like I'm going to collapse and muscles in my body I didn't even know I had are aching... getting to hear Peter get excited about a cool dance move (or anything that's around, or moves, or...well everything), watching Matthias be a pirate, having Lindsay tear some of my flesh off my arm, and even carrying around Kristen as I try to dance... all of that craziness makes all the exhaustion and muscle aches worth it.

We're Sailing!!!!
We are truly sailing on this Godspell ship of 2008. I know that there have been challenges along this beginning of boot camp...challenges for the new people....challenges for the veterans to encorporate a whole new concept and choreography moves into their muscle memory and taking on different roles....challenges for the band to vamp the music in a new way....BUT GUYS WE ARE DOING GREAT....thank you all for the work you are doing...Kristen all the work you are doing as our dance captain....both Patricks....all the work you do in running the music....Professor Shamburger and Kristi all the work you do to create a whole new show....Dawes....all the organization work....new people....all the work you are doing to learn this show....I truly believe this show can be powerful.....lets keep sailing....
Welcome to the Godspell 2008 Summer Tour!
For the third consecutive year, Huntington University students will present "Godspell" throughout the Midwest and MidAtlantic regions, offering 40 performances between June and August 2008. This site is designed for behind-the-scenes blogging by the cast and crew.
